Longmartin Properties Ltd, a joint venture between Shaftesbury Capital and the Mercers’ Company, has announced that technical athletic apparel brand, lululemon, has officially launched its upsized store on Long Acre within The Yards, Covent Garden.
Opening its doors in a new, prominent corner unit on Long Acre, the new store is a 130% upsize for lululemon at 8,330 sq ft, marking a significant investment from the leading international brand and a strong vote of confidence in The Yards. Trading across two floors, the West End store showcases both women’s and men’s clothing, alongside accessories for activities including yoga, running, training and more. The new Long Acre site is also lululemon’s first in Europe to launch water bottle personalisation in-store.
Enhancing The Yards’ vibrant neighbourhood of office workers, residents, and international and local visitors, lululemon’s upsized store is set to be a hub for the community, hosting events such as running clubs and group exercise sessions, rooted in the brand’s focus on movement, connection, and personal growth. In addition to the brand’s own activations, lululemon is set to take part in the destination’s ‘Connect at The Yards’ one-day wellness and culture event on Sunday 7th July. The Yards is bringing together leading fitness and wellness brands from across the destination to provide an elite program of experiences including fitness classes, workshops, music and art.
On behalf of Longmartin Properties Ltd, Abi Labbett, Asset Manager at CBRE, commented: “As a central day-to-night hub in the West End, we are committed to ensuring The Yards consistently offers something new and unique to not only its visitors, but also its neighbourhood of workers and residents. As a leading sector brand, lululemon continues to pave the way in activewear whilst crucially championing innovative customer engagement, which for The Yards’ community, is a key component. We are pleased to welcome lululemon’s upsized store, marking yet another leading brand to reinvest and recommit to The Yards.”
Sarah Clark, Senior Vice President, lululemon EMEA, added: “Covent Garden holds a special place in our hearts, as it’s where lululemon opened its very first European store back in 2014. We’re delighted to open this new, larger location, with more than double the space of our previous store to showcase our full all-gender offering for run, yoga, training, casual and more. Intended as a hub for the local community, our talented team are excited to build connections with new and existing guests.”
lululemon’s upsized store joins The Yards’ extensive line up of sportswear brands, including Pineapple, Snow+Rock and Runners Need, alongside premium fashion brands on Long Acre, including Levi’s and Reiss. Covent Garden is also home to Canadian high-performance outdoor apparel and accessories brand, Arc’teryx, and HOKA’s first-ever retail location in Europe.
Hanover Green acted for The Yards, whilst lululemon was represented by Forge.
