Festival Place has announced the signing of Superbowl UK, the family-friendly entertainment centre, creating a landmark leisure anchor for Basingstoke. The 16,750 sq ft unit will launch in summer 2025, and will be joined by Hans Buffet, which has signed to open a buffet concept next door.

Superbowl UK will be introducing its wide-ranging collection of leisure activities to 44-49 Queen Anne’s Walk. The concept centres around 10 lanes of bowling, but will also incorporate soft play, interactive darts, Shuffleboard, and SEGA Prize Zone, providing a complete array of activities to suit children, families, and work events. Superbowl UK will also include an F&B offer, serving classic diner food and a bar with a premium alcoholic range and soft drinks.

Adding further diversity to Festival Place’s casual dining, and designed to support the leisure focused visits for the adjacent Superbowl UK, is Hans Buffet. Over 100 dishes from across the globe form an eclectic menu across c.10,000 sq ft of restaurant space. Hans Buffet comes from the team behind Bracknell’s Tang’s, itself a fan-favourite buffet concept.

Jack Gordon, Director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, on behalf of Festival Place, commented: “These are two landmark signings for Festival Place, that play a big part in the destination’s continued evolution to deliver a more rounded, all-encompassing offer for its visitors. Superbowl UK is well known in the area and will bring families and groups of adults from far and wide, as they look for more interesting and engaging ways to socialise. Hans Buffet has been chosen for the unit next door to work in tandem, providing a new F&B offer that leisure seekers will no doubt want. Following the additions of Slim Chickens, Boswells, and Chopstix, and retail growth with Rituals, Sostrene Grene, and Fig & Fox, Festival Place is moving in a great direction, finding new and exciting ways to inspire visits.”

Kate Quaintance, Acquisitions Director at Superbowl UK, added: “Superbowl UK is one of the country’s most loved entertainment concepts, operating all over the country and building an incredible fanbase. We are family-friendly but everyone will be able to find something here to enjoy, and it’s that appeal to a broad demographic that made our decision to open at Festival Place. Our visitor demographics align, which gives us the confidence of being successful here, and also hopefully introducing customers from further afield to Festival Place and all it has to offer, because we know from experience people will travel to enjoy an evening at Superbowl UK!”

The signings of Superbowl UK and Hans Buffet form an important element of the strategy for Festival Place, bringing more leisure and F&B diversity to the centre to provide its community with more reasons to visit and stay longer
