Today, Victoria Centre has announced that a remarkable £13,347 was raised for Nottinghamshire Hospice, its charity of choice in 2024. To achieve this incredible figure, the centre hosted fundraising initiatives and activities throughout the year. This included charitable collection spaces at the Centre, donations from the iconic Emett Clock, staff-led initiatives such as Christmas Jumper Day and an in-house ‘tuck shop’.

In addition, the popular Nordic Brights event made a return for its second year. The 20-minute immersive trail experience was completely free to book, however donations were welcome with all proceeds going to Nottinghamshire Hospice. From the total 8,624 bookings for the event, £5,161 was raised. The funds will directly support the vital palliative and end-of-life care services the Hospice provides to individuals and families across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Nigel Wheatley, Centre Director at Victoria Centre, commented: “We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity and enthusiasm shown by our visitors, retailers, and team members throughout the year. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, played an integral part in achieving this outstanding total.

This partnership with Nottinghamshire Hospice goes beyond fundraising. It’s about raising awareness of the life-changing work the Hospice does every day, fostering deeper connections within our community and helping to make a meaningful difference for those facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

Supporting Nottinghamshire Hospice has been an honour, and this fundraising total reflects the power of coming together as a community.”

A spokesperson from Nottinghamshire Hospice said: “We are extremely thankful for the support from Victoria Centre and the wider Nottinghamshire community. The donations will go a long way towards the care we provide to those who need it most.”
