Co-op launches two stores to serve communities in Chopwell and Crawcrook.

Chopwell’s Co-op has re-opened following a seven-week programme of works and improvements to ‘transform’ the store.

While Crawcrook has seen a brand new Co-op store open as the convenience retailer relocates to a new, improved and larger location.

Located in Derwent Street, Chopwell, the near 2,000 sq ft store supports 12 local jobs and serves-up an increased range of fresh and chilled produce alongside an enhanced focus on meal ideas and everyday essentials; bakery and dairy products; food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products; award winning wines; ready meals; pizzas; vegan and plant-based products – all Co-op’s own branded meat is 100 percent British including in its pies, sandwiches and ready meals.

Parcel collection services are available through DPD, payment services are offered via PayPoint and, an ATM provides access to cash in the community. Self-service tills have also been added to provide further ease, speed and convenience – particularly at busier times.

Located in Main Street, Crawcrook, Co-op’s new 2,700 sq ft store serves-up an increased range of fresh and chilled produce alongside its focus on meal ideas and everyday essentials. A Costa Coffee Express machine has been added and parcel collection services are available through an InPost Locker. Payment services are provided by PayPoint, and an ATM ensures access to cash in the community. The store also has customer car parking.

The online home delivery of groceries is available via Uber Eats – where orders are picked fresh in the local store then delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

Co-op members enjoy a number of benefits including member-only price savings across a wide range of everyday essentials, and personalised offers via the Co-op Membership App.
