Co-op launches its new-look Farncombe (Surrey) store following a five-week programme of works and improvements.

The new-look, near 3,000 sq ft store, located in St John’s Street, Farncombe, opens between 7am-10pm daily and supports 20 local jobs. It includes an instore bakery; hot food; Costa Coffee Express and a free cash machine providing access to cash in the community.

Customer car parking includes two electric vehicle charging bays, and parcel collection services are available with an InPost locker. The online home delivery of groceries is available through Deliveroo for added ease and convenience – groceries are picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

A new laundry service is also available with a Wash.ME launderette located outside the store for washing and drying all types of laundry.

Farncombe’s new-look Co-op also includes a focus on chilled, fresh and healthy produce; meal ideas; everyday essentials; sandwiches, food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from, vegan and plant-based products. Co-op is also committed to supporting UK farmers, growers and suppliers, with all of its fresh and frozen meat and poultry, including in its ready meals, pies and freshly prepared sandwiches, 100% British.

A pop-up Co-op store continued to serve the community with a range of everyday essential during the programme of works.

Jayani Perera, Co-op Store Manager, said: “We have had a great response. The whole team is delighted to have had the opportunity to relaunch Co-op’s Farncombe store – the store has been transformed with a fresh new-look, and we are looking forward to welcoming the community back into their Co-op. Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve our community, conveniently. The store also has a focus on delivering value, with member price savings across a wide range of everyday essentials and groceries so that the people who own our business, our member-owners, benefit every time they shop.”
