CBRE Investment Management has announced Northwood, Maven Leisure’s latest sports bar concept, has launched at Islington’s Angel Central. It marks Angel’s first purpose-built sports bar and enhances the destination’s day-to-night offer.

The 3,600 sq ft unit is on Angel Central’s first floor, featuring 12 UHD screens and AV systems, providing a state of the art, experience. Starting with the Rugby World Cup, it will play a host of major sporting fixtures, from the likes of the Champions League and Premier League to Formula 1, cricket, and darts.

Northwood serves sports bar classics, with all food and drink prepared in-house and sourced from sustainable, British producers wherever possible. Dishes range from Neapolitan style pizzas and hearty burgers to sweet and spicy wings and more, which can be enjoyed inside or alfresco on the south-facing terrace.

Ed Martin, CEO of ETM Group & Maven Leisure, commented on the opening: “We are proud to have opened Angel’s first dedicated sports bar and kitchen, and look forward to being a part of this diverse community. We’re kicking off the opening with the Rugby World Cup, giving locals and beyond the chance to experience our premium dining and state of the art audio visual systems. Our goal has always been to run bars that are the first port of call to watch sports in the capital and we are excited for it to become a true local treasure.”

Louisa Butters, Head of Retail Asset Management UK at CBRE Investment Management, said: “Northwood is a fantastic addition to Angel Central. It will act as an anchor for the local community, enrich our visitor experience, and complement our existing tenants on the first floor, creating an exciting leisure hub within Islington. Our vision for the first floor of Angel Central has really come to life since the refurbishment, and Northwood is now a big part of that, delivering a fun and entertaining concept that all our visitors can enjoy.”

Maven Leisure / ETM Group dealt direct, whilst CBRE and Colliers act for Angel Central.
