• HOP Vietnamese Street Eats become the latest new eatery to arrive at Manchester Arndale in May
  • The fast growing QSR Vietnamese food brand will occupy the former Samsung unit on Market Street

Manchester Arndale has announced another new addition to its food and beverage line-up after agreeing a 15-year lease with HOP Vietnamese Street Eats.

HOP Vietnamese, which has a selection of outlets across London and a kiosk in ‘The Orient’ food court at The Trafford Centre, will bring a taste of Vietnam to Manchester City Centre when it moves into the 3,777 sq ft former Samsung unit on Market Street in May.

Founded in 2015 by Paul Hopper, HOP Vietnamese brings the fresh, vibrant street food of Vietnam to the city.  HOP’s food is inspired by the incredible street food vendors of Vietnam with an extensive fully customisable menu including Viet street food favourites, pho noodle soup, banh mi baguettes, noodle salads and delicious curries. The menu also includes bubble tea, fresh lemonades, soft serve ice cream, Viet rocket fuel coffee, Viet fried chicken, dumplings and more. Plant based and Halal options are available across the entire menu.

From the three minutes it takes guests from placing their orders through digital ordering kiosks, to walking out of the door, HOP pride themselves on fantastic service whilst delivering fresh made-to-order, superfast, fully customised dishes.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, added: “It is great to welcome HOP Vietnamese to Manchester Arndale as they will be an excellent addition to our restaurant and takeaway line up. We want to ensure the centre caters for Manchester’s diverse taste and we are certain that HOP Vietnamese will be a popular lunchtime favourite for those living and working in the city centre. This latest signing also continues on from the strong leasing activity we experienced during 2023 as we continue our efforts in maintaining Manchester Arndale’s place as the North West’s go-to destination.”

Paul Hopper, Founder of HOP Vietnamese, added: “We’ve been blown away by the welcome we’ve received at our first Manchester based location at The Trafford Centre, so when this incredible opportunity arose at Manchester Arndale it just felt right for a second opening. HOP’s offering is perfectly matched to both the needs of busy professionals as well as shoppers and tourists looking for a more interesting alternative to the regular fast food offerings typically found on the high street. Manchester has one of the UK’s most exciting city centres as well as dynamic food scenes and myself and the entire team at HOP cannot wait for our Vietnamese inspired street eats to be a part of this.”

M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents, with Green & Partners retained lease advisory agents.
