The O2 has announced that Clip ‘n Climb, the international climbing leisure operator, will be joining the destination later this summer, marking the brand’s second site in London. Opening within the Entertainment District, which is owned and operated by AEG Europe and Crosstree Real Estate, this latest addition follows the full leasing completion of the destination’s leisure and F&B real estate earlier this year, and highlights The O2’s agile approach, innovating new spaces to further enhance the customer experience.
Operating in 43 countries with over 350 locations worldwide, Clip ‘n Climb is set to be another world-class addition to The O2, taking on a new purpose-built and dedicated space adjacent to Mamma Mia! The Party. Opening this summer, the new 3,731 sq ft concept will consist of a vertical drop slide and 20 different climbing challenges of varied difficulty that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. The Clip ‘n Climb space will also hold ‘mini mountaineer’ sessions for toddlers, as well as dedicated SEN sessions, increasing its accessibility to The O2’s varied visitor base.
Clip ‘n Climb will join The O2’s impressive line-up of leisure brands, including roofwalk attraction Up at The O2, TOCA Social, BOOM BATTLE BAR, Oxygen Freejumping, and iFLY Indoor Skydiving. Following the news of a 100% leased Entertainment District earlier this year, The O2 has continued to drive forward new concepts by creatively utilising unused space within the destination, evidenced by Clip ‘n Climb’s new signing.
Janine Constantin-Russell, Managing Director of the Entertainment District and Outlet Shopping at The O2, said: “We have built an impressive leisure offering at The O2 over the last few years, but being fully let does not mean that this curation and innovation has to come to an end. Our visitors are always at the forefront of everything we do, and therefore it is key that we continue to deliver choice and memorable experiences that set us apart from other destinations. Clip ‘n Climb is a fantastic and complementary addition to our space, and its accessible and family-focused appeal elevates The O2’s leisure offering even further, reinforcing our position as the go-to choice for families.”
Mike Dawe, Managing Director at Clip ‘n Climb, added: “The O2 is a renowned entertainment destination within the UK, and we are excited to be a part of this thriving scheme, adding to the already impressive portfolio of prime leisure operators. The O2’s innovative approach to our new space matches our ethos; to deliver fun, safe, memorable experiences to customers of all ages and abilities.”
This news follows a raft of new openings at The O2 in recent months, such as Castore, the premium sportswear brand, and All Good Things, the sustainable designer outlet store, which both opened London outlet debuts at the destination. Chopstix, the pan-Asian quick-service restaurant, has also recently opened in the Entertainment District, further highlighting The O2’s role in delivering a well-rounded retail, F&B, and leisure offer for its visitors.
Richard Lucas Property Consultants acted for Clip ‘n Climb, whilst Lunson Mitchenall represented The O2.
