Last weekend, centre:mk hosted the UK’s largest fashion and beauty indoor event, welcoming over 113,000 visitors across the two-day period. Located at Middleton Hall, centre:mk’s Fashion Weekend featured 80 brands across 40 of the destination’s retailers, enabling visitors to see the latest trends across fashion, health, and beauty.

Running bi-annually, the highly anticipated free event is created by centre:mk to engage and inspire shoppers, showcasing a wide variety of items across the centre’s leading line-up of retail brands. The event demonstrates the destination’s active commitment to driving spend and footfall into stores while launching the Autumn/Winter Season. Across the weekend, whole centre footfall was up 6.1 percent year-on-year.

Creating additional reasons for customers to visit or extend an existing trip to the destination, centre:mk’s ability to deliver large scale activations continues. Key brands to have partnered with centre:mk on the Fashion Weekend include Reiss, Mango, John Lewis & Partners, H Beauty and Jigsaw, as well as new retailers Mint Velvet and Castore. Leading names in beauty shared professional make-up demos from Huda Beauty, Hourglass, Guerlain and Clarins, whilst Jo Malone held a scent masterclass, and Apple hosted a tech talk. With catwalk shows on the hour, every hour from 11am each day, visitors were also able to enjoy style talks from the personal shopper team at John lewis as well as TV stylist Annaleise Hayes, beauty demos, pop-ups, and special offers on the day.

Kevin Duffy, centre:mk’s Centre Director, commented: “centre:mk’s Fashion Weekend is the largest and most successful of its kind in the UK, and welcoming over 113,000 active and engaged visitors, which in-turn drive spend in store, is an excellent result. It demonstrates our approach to active management and retailer engagement, as well as our commitment to delivering varied and enhanced customer experiences.”
