Bunsik, London’s popular grab-and-go Korean street food sensation, is set to launch a fourth London location at Westfield Stratford City this December. Located within the bustling food court on the lower ground level and making clever use of the shared seating area, Bunsik’s next venture will be the first and only Korean restaurant within the shopping centre, filling a significant gap in the market.
The prime location within the bustling Westfield Stratford City centre is poised to take Bunsik’s popularity to new heights. Positioned next to household names Subway and Pizza Hut, Bunsik’s strategic presence within the shared seating area not only enhances accessibility but offers something new and diverse to Westfield Stratford City’s already varied culinary offering.
Bunsik Stratford will offer shoppers the chance to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine while immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the food court, attracting both loyal fans of Korean cuisine and new customers eager to experience its offering.
In response to changing consumer tastes, Bunsik is thrilled to introduce a range of vegetarian options to its menu, a first for this new Stratford site, including the debut of its first Veggie Burger. Bunsik’s menu will continue to feature its signature Korean street food classics, including Korean Corn Dogs, for which the brand is famed on social media, Kimbap, Ddukbokki, and Korean Fried Chicken. Plus, a variety of ever popular bubble teas.
This opening will be a fifth venue for Bunsik, following the success of the brand’s first venture out of London in Manchester this Summer. Marking a significant milestone for the brand as it embarks on an ambitious journey of expansion and franchising. Bunsik owners, Maguro Group, renowned for their innovative culinary concepts, have chosen Bunsik as their first franchise endeavor, with a vision to open a remarkable 20 Bunsik sites by the year 2026.
Director Jae Cho expresses his enthusiasm for Bunsik’s future as a franchise opportunity; “Bunsik has been flourishing and we’re gearing up to launch it as a franchise next year. We recently opened our first site outside of London in Manchester, and its success has surpassed all expectations. We’re considering several UK cities for expansion, in addition to further locations within London. We have selected Bunsik for franchising due to its simplicity in menu offerings, an attractive price point, and its appeal to the younger generation. This next location for us within Westfield Stratford is an exciting one as we are trying a new food court model. We do so with great confidence; having this fantastic opportunity to partner with a global brand as well renowned as Westfield.”
Bunsik’s arrival at Westfield Stratford, and the brand’s growth plans, align seamlessly with its mission to make Korean street food more accessible. With a dedication to quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction, crucial to driving its success.
